As of September 15th, 2002, Federal regulations require any person operating a powered vessel of less than 4 meters in length, to have a Pleasure Craft Operator's Card. That is potentially as many as 3.5 million Canadian boaters!

Already, any person born after April 1, 1983 needs a Card to operate a powered vessel and by September 2009, every Canadian, of any age, will need a Card. Don't wait to the last minute when regulations may tighten or prices may rise…take the course now and get your Canadian Coast Guard Accredited, CYA Operator's Card - Spark Start.

You have three options:

1. Challenge Exam - Register for the test in your area
2. Refresher Course - For those who have taken boating courses before
3. Complete Course - The best choice and one that every boating family should take together

For more information on clubs, schools, and instructors in your area contact your provincial sailing association.

A Canadian Yachting Association Certified Instructor has the best way to teach all you will need to know, to pass the Canadian Coast Guard approved test. After all, we are the people who train Canada's Olympic Sailing Team!

Since 1931, when CYA was formed to train our first Olympic Sailors, we have been in the business of on-the-water training in boating. No other organization actually does this in Canada. We are the governing body and the organization who trains and certifies the 1,000 Instructors who serve the 10 Provincial Sailing Associations, 400 Yacht Clubs and Boating Schools and an estimated total of 80,000 members!

We have top people in your area, and they are offering Courses right now.
